COURSES FOR CHILDREN
A first familiarisation with skiing can occur very early, once children show an interest in the sport. Lessons only make sense once the children are ready to leave their parents for the duration of the course and when they are ready to listen to the instructor. Private lessons and group courses can be recommended from age 3 approximately. For 3 year olds we recommend a trial day. It could turn out that it is still too early. The biological age does not always equal the chronological age.
The fee for courses and private lessons that have been booked and paid for, will not be refunded in case of absence from the course; the course fee will also not be refunded in case of illness or accident, and the course participant explicitly agrees to waive reimbursement claims; We recommend purchasing a cancellation insurance or ski insurance in order to be able to claim the cancellation fees from your insurance; However, it is also possible to book a trial day, especially for the little ones. In any case we strive to find a fitting solution for everyone.
No, this is not necessary. The kids make a brake during the group lesson. They get a hot drink to heat and some cookies.
Yes, the ski instructors help the children with this.
Parents can watch the course, however the lesson should not be interrupted. Often it is better for the kids when parents are not directly around the practice area.
The meeting point depends on the performance level and is at the ski lift Waldheim or at the mountain of Monte Elmo. But you get detailed information at the office while reservation and for the next days from your ski instructor.
Beginners start the course on Sunday or Monday. The possibility to start with the course an other day, you have to check in the ski school office.
The ski school recommends all children and adults to wear helmets. Helmets are mandatory for children up to 14 years old.
We recommend to book the course online. This guarantees you the participation and helps to save time on site. A direct reservation in our office is possible up to one day before the beginning of the course.
The children are assigned to groups first and foremost based on their ability and age. If your kids or the kids’ friends have the same ability, please let us know at the time of registration and also at the start of the course and we will do our best to accommodate your request. If children do not ski at the same level of ability, the child who skis better has to watch out for those of lesser ability.
Due to organisational reasons it is unfortunately not possible to book a group course with a certain instructor.
Why do some instructors take the group to the exercise slopes in the valley and not on the mountain, even if the kids can do parallel turns already?
Whenever new partial goals have to be met or improved, it is better to exercise on flat slopes where children feel safe and therefore can make rapid progress.
We try to form the groups so that the instructors can design a methodically well-structured lesson. The size of the group varies between 5 and 10 children. Some groups may have 6 or 7 kids and in absolutely exceptional cases 10 children.
None of the children beginning need ski poles. For more advanced children, the rule for the first day is: kids who have already learned to ski with poles bring these with them on the first day. Kids that never learned to ski with poles come without them. For the following course days, the instructor gives you further information.
Children from 3 years and older, which are able to do also the ski course, can participate at Toni's Mini Club. Babysitting without ski lesson we offer only on request.
Children from 7 years and teenagers can participate at the Junior Adventure Club. They must have already experience on the skis and know the basics of parallel skiing.
The price of the full-time courses includes also lunch. For the half day course it is also possible to book the lunch extra.
The kids get a varied kids’ menu. The menu of the Toni's Mini Club you can find on the billboard at the club local. The kids, who participate at the Junior Adventure Club, can choose their meal in one of the huts.
Usually the final race is on Friday during the course in the morning or in the afternoon at the ski lift Waldheim. Detailed information or changes you get from the ski instructor.
The prize giving is usually after the final race.
Participation in the final race is included in the price of the course.
The group courses for kids start on every Sunday or Monday. The courses for adults start every Monday. During Christmas the courses start every day.
In general we differentiate the following 5 performance levels:
- Beginners: never skied or scant experience
- Snowplough without lift: are able to slowdown but never used the ski lift alone
- Snowplough with lift: are able to do snowplough and can use the ski lift alone
- Intermediate: mix of snowplough and parallel
- Parallel: are able to take the skis parallel
At the ski school office you can pay cash, with EC card or credit card (no American Express). In order to reduce the waiting times at the ski school office, we recommend booking from the comfort of your home and pay by credit card.
Yes, a valid ticket must be given to the instructors by the end of the first day at the latest.
Saturday and Sunday we offer only private lessons (except Christmas time).
If you get sick during a course, on production of a medical certificate by a doctor you will get a voucher for the remaining course days (valid for 2 years). The course fees will not be refunded however. We therefore recommend purchasing Travel Cancellation Insurance.
Winter sports are outdoor sports! We believe that there is no bad weather, but only bad clothing… In case of snowfall skiing is often even more fun than when the sun shines. Lessons will not be made up or reimbursed even in the case of inclement weather.
In the case that a student does not come to a lesson with an instructor or arrives late, he/she will not have the right to make up the lesson or to receive a reimbursement.
